Unless you're doing Windows-specific development, a Macbook Pro will probably be your best option. Apart from the hardware usually being more reliable than with Windows laptops, the fact that OS X is a Unix means that you have access to a vast software development ecosystem, and cross-development for Linux is much easier. 3 Likes

Personally my favourite keyboard is the Thinkpad keyboard. Thinkpads to me are the best programming machines. What limits them though is Windows (which can be easily replaced with Linux).

Objective C is a proprietary language belonging only to Apple. As a matter of fact, Apple is very brilliant in the way they conduct business. If you have an Apple computer, you can develop Apps for all platforms. Whereas with a Linux Computer or Windows computer, you will only be able to develop apps for Android and Windows Phone. Many ppl r swearing off apple products,with its lock-in system. I dont see how apple computers could b d best for anything. Mayb d aesthetics and visuals. Great,theyre important factors to usabilty of d product,but as tipping points in computer comparisons? No way. Way more software are made for windows than apple and possibly linux.

Business laptops would be good for programming. You don't actually need a dedicated graphic card except you are into game development especially 3d game development.
